There is no way to know that from Earth
For another 1000 years

At which time 1000 years later
People from Earth will realize
They have been looking at a star
For a thousand years

A star that didn't exist
For 999,999,000 years

Truly

In the vastness of space
With infinity of time
Every point in the universe
Is a point of isolation

Blind as a bat

Can good or even perfect democracy
Ensure the best and finest outcome
Despite limited candidates?

Far be it from the truth
All it can ensure
Is to make people get
What people want

Is not always
What people should have

People did not get
What people wanted

And there lies the irony
Of imperfect democracy
