All powerful
Natural disasters
Causing destruction

But there is something
Higher and greater
More destructive

The overwhelming
Delusion of grandeur
Pride of human beings

Who cannot see mere
One second into the future
Let alone the end that awaits

Blind As A Bat

If a star is billion light years away
And it blew up 999,999,000 years ago
There is no way to know that from Earth
For another 1000 years

At which time 1000 years later
People from Earth will realize
They have been looking at a star
For a thousand years

A star that didn't exist
For 999,999,000 years

Truly

In the vastness of space
With infinity of time
Every point in the universe
Is a point of isolation
